Wake Up - Sermon by Rhiannon Hill

We are excited to have our own Rhiannon Hill preach this morning. Her sermon is called "Wake Up!" And it's based on the story of Samuel being called into his role as prophet for Israel. A lot of us don't really think we hear God speak in our lives, or we like to say that God whispers in the wind as a way to poetically say that it's something more like intuition or story. We're actually a lot like Israel in Samuel's time, listening to the story and doing the motions. But Samuel's calling does not fit that model. Samuel is needed for something big, Israel is about to change forever, and God does not have time to whisper. Our world is changing in big ways too, we are being called to do something big, and we need to open ourselves up to hear that call. It's time to wake up! God is calling.
