Lawrence Park Community Church's second collection program provides our congregation with the opportunity to learn about and help support worthy charities and organizations both in Toronto and around the world. After our first collection for the operations of our church, a second collection is taken for a chosen charity for that month. In the past we have taken collections for Out of the Cold, New Circles, the L'Arche Community, Oikocredit, CRC 40 Oaks, Camp Scugog, and The Syrian Refugee Fund. Through this initiative we are able to raise thousands of dollars every year for outside causes. We also expand our understanding and our connection with our local and world community.

For the month of February our second collection will be taken for L'Arche Canada. L'Arche was founded by Canadian Jean Vanier to bring together people who have intellectual disabilities with those of us who do not. In Canada there are nearly 200 homes and workshops or day programs in operation. Through these communities, L'Arche is committed to helping create an open, inclusive and compassionate Canadian society where every person is valued and can make a contribution.
