I am from Texas, and I grew up on the Texas/Mexico border and in the Dallas area. I came to Toronto to do graduate work at the University of Toronto and I am still here! Music has been a constant thread in my life—I started studying classical guitar at seven and I never looked back. I played in bands in Texas, Tennessee and Toronto over the years and have had success as a songwriter. I worked in marketing at Xerox Canada until the birth of my daughter, Amye, in 1996. I was covenanted into youth ministry at Kingston Road United Church in 2001, when I also returned to school to earn my Bachelor of Education. I have taught everything from kindergarten to university classes. Although I still work part-time in marketing and development with a national arts organization, teaching and ministry are my true loves and my calling. I am so blessed to have found a home, one where I can share these gifts, at Lawrence Park. The spirit and warmth of the staff, the congregation and the community are amazing.
