Lost in the midst of all the news coming from south of the border is a lot of news about the world at large. Whether it is starvation in Yemen's ongoing civil war, or the plight of the Rohinga, world news just doesn't have that much "air" in the press. That applies to the ongoing struggles between Israel and the Palestinians. This Sunday we'll take a look at what the Apostle Paul has to say. He doesn't address geopolitical questions about Israel, but is keenly interested in the relationship between Jews and gentiles like (most!) of us. The distinction between Israel as a state, and the plight of the Jews, historically, is often lost on us. So on Sunday, we'll see whether what Paul says is helpful in this situation, or not. And we'll ask, what responsibility does the church have to Israel, and to Jews, in view of their tortured history.
