Luke 2: 1-20

In a poignant Christmas Eve sermon, Rev. Suk draws upon the plight of Joseph and Mary being turned away over and over while they searched for a place for Jesus' birth.  'No room' they were told.  No room other than the straw of a stable.

And it was there that God sent the least and the last to them; the shunned shepherds, the pagan wisemen, the lepers, the unbelieving and unwanted.  All were drawn to that manger to witness.

Against this unlikely backdrop Rev. Suk reminds us that while we, ourselves, may sometimes long for a sign that we are accepted, forgiven, loved, we are always welcome; there is always room in Jesus church.
