October 23, 30, November 6 and 20 - Eglinton St. George United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd in the Eglinton Room - 7 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Art of Compassionate Listening in an Age of Noise with Patricia Thompson and Don Parsons. This four-week discussion on topics such as listening to ourselves, listening to God, and listening to others, and our emotional responses. The classes will speaker to the noise, to our inner critics, to the silence of God, and other realities of our lives.

November 19, 26, December 3 and 10 - Calvin Presbyterian/Deer Park United, 26 Delisle Ave, one block north of Yonge and St. Clair. 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.mCelebrating Abundance: Devotions for Advent by Walter Brueggemann. Daily reflection s on the stories of Advent that invite us to see beyond the world's faux extravagance and realize the true feast laid out before us. Twelve prayers are also included for the twelve days of Christmas.
