Acts 6:1-7

On this day of 3 Baptisms and 1 Confirmation, we look at what it means to be part of a religious institution. Modern day people don't trust institutions. They trust their gut feeling, or whatever the internet told them last, but they don't feel good about institutions. There's a lot of valid reasoning for this of course. This discomfort can translate into people saying "I'm spiritual, but not religious!"

But religion can be a very good thing. Religion is a lot of spiritual people, coming together, and saying "We can do so much good together." It's a voluntary and real commitment to not keeping one's spirituality all to themselves, but sharing it with others, and making the world a better place.
