Song lyrics to All the Diamonds, by Bruce Cockburn

For our third Sunday in our Canadian Music series, we featured Canadian Pop and Folk Icons; Bruce Cockburn, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell.

Our text for the sermon was All the Diamonds by Bruce Cockburn. This song was written the day after Bruce realized he was a christian. In it, he talks about the shallow areas of life and how God called him to something deeper and more meaningful. We all struggle with the temptation of shallow living, even if just in small doses. Those temptations can even transfer to how we see church sometimes, maybe as just a club, or somewhere to find Bridge partners. Here at LPCC we are always trying to conqure that temptation and make sure that we live deeply, connecting to each other, and taking care of each other. That's the important thing, that we keep trying to find those deeper waters.
